About me

Hey, I'm AJ — a web developer and UI/UX designer who's all about turning ideas into real, useful things. I've always loved technology and how it can be used to support our communities, both here in Aotearoa and around the world.

I studied Biomedical Engineering at the University of Auckland, which sparked a deep interest in how we're built and how we think. That curiosity plays a big role in how I approach design and development — always with people in mind.

These days, I'm working on a bunch of projects, learning as I go and building things that I think will help people, even if just a little.

What I do

I specialize in creating user-centered digital experiences that are both beautiful and functional. My background in biomedical engineering gives me a unique perspective on how to design interfaces that work with how people naturally think and interact.

Web Development

I build modern, responsive websites and web applications using the latest technologies. Whether it's a simple portfolio site or a complex web application, I focus on creating clean, maintainable code that delivers great user experiences.

UI/UX Design

My design approach is rooted in understanding user needs and behaviors. I create intuitive interfaces that help people accomplish their goals efficiently and enjoyably.

Community Focus

I believe technology should serve people and communities. I'm particularly interested in projects that have a positive social impact, whether that's supporting local businesses, educational initiatives, or community organizations.

My Philosophy

Having been broke most of my life, my philosophy is that if I can make it for free, then I will share it for free. I think that might be my favourite part about frontend development and the current state of the market - you can host things for free. I hope this means I can help somone who needs it. Ofcourse, I still like projects that I find fun.
